基于过程评价的CDIO初级项目课程考核体系的研究与实践

CDIO工程教育模式在中国已经得到了广大开设高等工程教育院校的认可,中国民航大学在电子信息工程专业深入开展相关教学研究与试点工作。本文详细描述CDIO工程教育模式一体化教学中项目教学课程的内容载体、组织形式、实践场所的基础上,重点描述了该教育模式下项目教学课程的评价过程和方式,并附学生和教师的后续表现佐证。以微薄的教学研究经验和实践,抛砖引玉,为我国高等工程教育的改革与发展,提供一种新的思路。

Managerial incentives and R&D investments: The moderating effect of the directors’ and officers’ liability insurance

Literature regarding the impact of managerial incentives on firm’s research and development (R&D) investments suggests that due to the riskiness of R&D activities, firms need to provide managerial incentives to encourage managerial discretion on corporate long-term investments of R&D. In spite that managerial incentives influence corporate R&D spending, some also argue corporate R&D spending a function of managerial incentive schemes. This paper applies the simultaneous equation to investigate the association between managerial discretion on R&D investments and the incentive scheme of CEO compensations by using the sample firms listed in Taiwan Security Exchange and Taipei Exchange. The results indicate that the listed firms in Taiwan simultaneously determine corporate R&D investments and CEO compensations. They reward their CEOs in compliance with their efforts on R&D investments and CEO compensation motivates CEOs to align their interests with firms’ long-term investments on R&D. A further analysis of the protection effect from the directors’ and officers’ (D&O) liability insurance suggests that D&O protection intensifies the relationship between R&D investments and CEO compensation. It encourages CEOs to allocate resources on R&D activities and make CEO incentive contracts efficacious on corporate long-term investments. The result is robust in the electronic industry of Taiwan.     

Effects of attending preschool on adolescents’ outcomes: evidence from China

This study examines whether attending preschool enhances the cognitive abilities, health and socialization of junior high school students in China. Using propensity score matching to control for a rich data set of student, family and school characteristics, I find that attending preschool enhances cognition among seventh graders but those gains fade among ninth graders. The greatest benefits from preschool accrue to both seventh and ninth graders from economically disadvantaged families. Results for non-cognitive categories are mixed, and no evidence suggests superior health outcomes. Evidence also shows cognitive benefits among adolescents – especially those economically disadvantaged – who entered preschool earlier.     

当前初中语文教学提问策略浅析

This article is a case study of the crisis communications response that took place following the Thurston High School shootings in Springfield, Oregon, in May 1998. It addresses the challenges faced by public information officers, in the Springfield/Eugene, Oregon area, who dealt with the communications aftermath of the Thurston shootings and looks at the emotional impact a crisis of this magnitude can have on those responding to it from an information dissemination and news gathering perspective.
